Motorcycle taxi – robs New Zealand tourist
It was reported that a 21-year-old “win” motorcycle taxi (Jumphon Jaengwansuk ) has been arrested by Nang Lerng district police in Bangkok after he stole cash and property worth 4,700 baht from New Zealander Andrew Johnson…
Thirty-year-old Andrew had been on his way back to his address from Siam BTS on Sunday riding his bicycle.
Jumphon Jaengwansuk spotted the target and started planning his thieving intentions with his eye on the belongings on the tourist’s front basket.
He at first gained Andrew’s trust by calling out a friendly greeting of “Where you come from?
Mr. Johnson replied “New Zealand” and was unaware that the Thai had been stalking him from the Lan Luang Post Office.
Jumphon then grabbed the bag containing 1,700 baht in cash and a 3,000 baht power bank ..
CCTV examination soon led to an arrest warrant and the Jumphon was charged with snatch and grab theft at night…
His Honda motorcycle, jacket and helmet were taken into evidence.
