Bangkokian Arrested for Hoarding 6 million Baht  Worth of Face masks and Rapid Test Kits.

A police tip was made on Wednesday, May 6th that a house had been turned into a warehouse to store controlled goods, which was later discovered to be true by local authorities in Phakkhaphong Phongphetra.

More than  397,520 face masks including the 3M N95 masks used by medical staff to treat Covid-19 patients were seized, as well as 960 thermal scanners and 1,975 Covid-19 testing kits.

Total worth to be estimated at Bt6 million,” said Metropolitan Police chief Pol Lt-General. Metropolitan Police arrested a 23-year-old man named Athip for illegally importing and possessing controlled items for commercial purposes.

The suspect also tested positive for methamphetamine and was also charged with using illegal narcotics.

The suspect reportedly told the police that he was storing the products for another person. Police have launched an investigation into the case.
