Rare Gaur carcass found in Wang Nam Khieo forest

The carcass of a gaur, also called the Indian bison was found in a forest in Wang Nam Khieo district of Nakhon Ratchasima province on Sunday. (Photo by Prasit Tangprasert) NAKHON RATCHASIMA: The carcass of a gaur has been found by local villagers in a forest in this northeastern province.

The gaur has been on the IUCN Red List since 1986

On Sunday, about 10 national park officials and authorities examined parts of the carcass of a gaur. The bones were scattered through the forest including, the skull and the skin. There were signs that meat had been cut from the bones, but no bullet wound.
