Half a Ton of Ganja seized in Mukdahan River Bank

That Phanom province– On Tuesday Border Patrol Company #325  arrested 4 elders with almost a half a ton of marijuana seized from them.

It was estimated the street value of at least 10 million Baht..

The three men were about to take the drugs that were smuggled along the Mekong River to a storage place when officers spotted them. The men who were arrested were Mr. Phu Thon Wai, age 57 years from Pong Kham District, Wah Yai , Mr. Yut Yarong Wai, 41 years old who is an assistant to the elders of the house and Mr. Polsak Eksapung – 34 years old.

Mr. Phu Thon Wai confessed that they were selling marijuana to a capitalist in Laos, a neighboring country. He continued to say, he would get paid 30,000 baht every time he delivered the marijuana. He explained, he would call for delivery,  then he would wait for a riverboat to make the drop along the banks of Mekong River. He then proceeded to collect the goods bring to their storage facility before distributing.

This was part of a sting operation in connection Ban Phueng District which is believed to be connected to a large meth dealer. It’s almost the rainy season so there have been lots of cannabis stock for sale in the past month, border area. Nakhon Phanom has seized more than 3 tons of cannabis so far.
