Cyclone Amphan: More than 80 dead in India and Bangladesh, 15 dead in Kolkata as trail of destruction is left behind– UPDATED VIDEO
May 21, 2020 – Cyclone Amphan Hits Landfall
NASA satellites have been providing forecasters with various types of imagery on Typhoon Amphan as it hit landfall near the border of eastern India and Bangladesh. The meteorologist was calling this one of the most dangerous storms in decades but reports are showing the cyclone is causing a lot less damage than predicted. Phones and electricity are out as well as reports of bridges collapsing. The storm made landfall around 4 pm in Digha, India with winds up to 115 mph (186 KPH).
