31 May– At 4:00 pm, the House of Representatives and Senate came to a resolution approving Thailand’s emergency decree.
1. Thailands Emergency Decree authorized the Ministry of Finance to borrow money to solve problems, recover and restore economic and social conditions. The meeting approved a majority of 274 votes without a resolution, but 207 MPs exercised their right to abstain from voting.
2. The Emergency Decree will provide financial assistance to entrepreneurs affected by the coronavirus outbreak. The majority approved 275 votes, disapproval 1 vote, abstain 205 votes.
3. The Emergency Decree will continue to maintain financial stability and economic security for the year 2020. The meeting has a majority vote approving 274 votes, disapproval of 195 votes, abstaining 12 people.
After voting, the results will be sent to the Senate for further considerations. However, if the House of Representatives and the Senate do not agree together, the decree shall be void. As a rule,no less than 1/2 the majority of votes. Lastly, if the Senate approves that Emergency Decree, it will go into effect immediately.
