On June 3rd, 2020, Staff found the remains of a male elephant, aged 40 years, weighing approximately 5-6 tons. He was found dead on the edge of Huai Rai Mango Village in Kui Buri National Park with his trunk burnt and still attached to a metal wire. The elephant had fallen onto the wire after being electrocuted by an electric fence designed to stop the elephants from eating the mango tree. The elephant was dead for approximately 24 hours before the two men found him.

About 200 meters away, two generators were found in a zinc factory which was then confiscated as evidence.
Later, the police brought back the two men to Pranburi Police Station where they both testified. the two employees, Mr. Komsak or Tung Si Thadadi, and Mr. Siamrat Mo Yai both admitted to setting up the electric fence to stop the elephants from eating their mango trees but had no intention of killing them.
Both men were charged for violating the Wildlife Preservation and Protection Act B.E. 2562, Section 12. No person shall hunt wild animals or protected wildlife (elephants) as well as violate the provincial announcement dated January 19, 2012. This prohibits the use of generators used to create a high voltage fence for the purpose of keeping wildlife in or out of any area.
For the elephant carcass, after the vet team performed an examination to collect some tissues for examination in the laboratory. Mahidol University Then invited monks to pray for the Requiem for the merit for the elephants before burying the elephant.
