Monks Dogs poisoned at famous Mae Tha District Temple

The temple administrator at Wat Phra Doi Phra Shan, a famous temple in Mae Tha District explained that there were 9 dogs poisoned including the abbot’s dog who were poisoned 2 times before. The first time it happened was about 2 months when three dogs came back limping to the temple. The monk and I fed the dogs eggs and herbs to force them to vomit. We were able to rescue two of them but the Siberia died.

We were curious as to why the dogs were getting poisoned so we explored all around the temple. We found went  Sai Sai pork, mixed with medicine left at various points as well as another wild dog who was poisoned and still dying in the forest. The monks believe that many families live in the forest who possibly hunt and kill these dogs for food,  but the temple did not go to report yet because there is not enough evidence to prosecute anyone.

The monks hope by publishing the story, perhaps the perpetrators will stop their cold-hearted acts.
