New food delivery apps seeking a bite out of 35 billion a year biz

Thailands love affair with food embraces meal-delivery apps, as competition intensifies, also a safer way to purchse food during the pandemic.
Foodpanda, Line Corp.’s , Line Man, Uber Eats , and Grab have all been pushing promotions for a lot of Thailands street stalls and great restaurants offering major discounts or even free delivery, keeping both customers and restaurants happy.
As of now, Food Panda is ranked number one but continues to face fierce competition by the day. When the competition becomes too painful, according to the Thailand Tech Startup Association. “In the end, it’ll be like the ride-sharing business here where the smaller players will have to disappear,” said Vachara Aemavat, the group’s president.
Thailand’s market for online food ordering has surpassed predictions to hit 31.7 billion baht this year, more than doubling since 2014. That’s faster than about 80 per cent growth in the Asia-Pacific region as a whole.
