Europe reopens borders while China embraces for a new virus outbreak

COVID-19 update – A raft of EU nations reopened their borders to fellow Europeans on Monday after months of coronavirus curbs, but China locked down parts of Beijing to battle a new outbreak that has stoked fears of a second wave of infections.

Although Europe has reopened, foreigners are not allowed to visit yet. France and Germany both opened their borders without medical checks, Greece welcomed visitors from other European countries last week without having to take any medical tests. Most recently, France allowed all cafes and restaurants to fully reopen as Europe got back to work.

The head of the World Health Organization said more than 100,000 confirmed cases are reported every day from around the world. Three-fourths of those cases came from 10 countries, mostly in SE Asia and the Americas.

Recently, White House officials played down the severity of coronavirus in Arizona, the 2nd most populated state in the USA. They just set a record for the highest number of hospitalizations due to the virus. Not just one day but for the seventh time in 8 days, Arizona’s hospitals were over 80% capacity.

While your country might say it’s safe to play outside, it would be wise to keep your guard up.
