Drug cartels in southern Thailand deliver drugs stuffed in speakers

June 17, 2020, a shipment from  Chiang Rai to Yala was recently intercepted by Chiang Rai Police. Police have reported that many drugs are smuggled from the northern border areas into 3 southern border provinces by private transport companies in  Wiang Pa Pao District, Chiang Rai Province.

After a tip, they inspected a large parcel box which they asked the delivery staff to open.  Inside the box, they found 2 speakers but weighed  17 kilograms more than what the package read. The police became suspicious and had a look inside the speaker and to their surprise, they found a total of 52,000 amphetamine pills.

Police officers arrested two drug traffickers, Kiatisak Saelu, 27, from Betong District, Yala  and Mr. Sukree Masamae, age 33 Muang District, Narathiwat Province.

Officials have seized and inspected all the parcels as well as take note of the names and addresses of both sender and receiver.

The investigation found that the sender’s name is Mr. Kiatisak Sae Lu, 27 years old, from Betong Subdistrict, Belong District, Yala Province. The recipient’s name is a woman at a hospital in Yala province, living in Muang Yala.

Officials later arrested Mr. Kiatisak Which is the sender and has extended the arrest of Mr. Sukree Masamae, 33 years old in Narathiwat Province who also helped traffick the drugs.
