News reports from the Ministry of Justice revealed that Col. Baranyong Tangpakorn, a former Deputy Minister of Commerce had plans to escape from Bangkok Special Prison. Col. Baranyong was serving a sentence for the murder of Mr. Chuwong Saetang, a businessman who died in a mysterious car crash. He’s also charged for the killing of Mr. Wirachai Sakun Tabrasert, the brother of Ms. Panida Sakun Tabrasert, a senior judge from a Bangkok Court. He was arrested at the end of February 2020 and is just now finishing the trial.
After finding evidence that he was planning an escape, he was ordered to be relocated from the Bangkok Special Prison which is a prison for those still in a trial to Bang Kwang Central Prison Which is a high-security prison.
Mr. Baranyong will be under special supervision from here on out because there were rumors that he was going to try and kill himself on the way to the new prison.
