COVID-19: 50,000 select foreigners to start arriving next week
Taweesilp Visanuyothin, spokesman of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), on Wednesday announced the government’s plan which will allow foreign nationals back into Thailand.
50000 foreign visitors are expected to arrive in Thailand as early as July 1st, 2020. The first group of foreigners entering Thailand will be business representatives, skilled workers, experts, people with Thai families, teachers, students, and patients who agree to quarantine, according to the Thai government.
The second group will consist of 30,000 medical and wellness tourists, 15,500 skilled workers/experts; 2,000 teachers, educational personnel and students; 2,000 foreigners with Thai families or with residences in Thailand; and 700 businesspeople/investors.
