At 10.30 pm last evening, there was a fire in Ban Sukawadi, Pattaya, at a newly reopened luxury mansion called Sukhawadee Mansion They had not been reopened for more than a day before officials had to mobilize over 20 people from the blaze, ten different fire vehicles along with many firefighters came from all over Pattaya and other nearby areas to help contain the fire. The fire has burned the Buddha’s building, which was finely decorated with royal relics. It’s a huge loss for both the owners and visitors who never had the chance to see it.
The fire was hard to contain due to strong winds blowing from one end of the building, out the other. Thick dark smoke made it hard for rescuers to breathe while gas pipes and propane tanks exploded through the night. Residents in the neighborhood came to watch the building burn down through the night as firefighters were finally able to extinguish the fire after 15 hours.
Mr. Krishna Lao Chai, the leading police officer of Pattaya reported that fire officials have calmed the fire but still haven’t left the building. He said at one point the fire had gone out, but the strong winds generated a second fire.
The Sukawadee house mansion fire came to a stop early this morning while firefighters showed signs of fatigue. They will continue to inject water onto the building to stop the flame from burning more due to high winds that continue to blow. The cause of the fire is still unknown but you can be assured they will be investigating as soon as they’re able to. There were no deaths and no injuries.
Baan Sukhawadi is located at Naklua Beach in Pattaya. Baan Sukhawadee or Eden House was built in the year 2000 on the seafront and it is 400 meters long. The house is built in a peaceful area surrounded by botanical gardens and great view combined with many stunning buildings and several holy images for worship such as the Lord Buddha at birth Image, the Goddess of Mercy, King Taksin the Great, King Chulalongkorn the Great, Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak, the father of Royal Thai Navy, etc.
