Early morning on July 4th, Muang Nakhon Phanom police arrested a 41-year-old man who confessed to a triple murder shooting. During broad daylight, He shot his 23-year-old wife, his sister-in-law, and his mother-in-law point-blank in the middle of Mahasitthichok Road, Nakhon Phanom Municipality.
His plan in the morning was to pick up his wife at her rented apartment and drive together to pick up their 8-year-old daughter at kindergarten. But shortly after he picked her up they both started arguing with her older sister and mother in the back seat. Things were getting out of hand.
When the car stopped, the older sister jumped out, opened the front passenger door, and pulled her sister out of the car. Then, the older sister punched her brother-in-law and started swearing at him. At that point, the husband lost it, and reached for a gun inside a bag from the back seat and began pulling the trigger. He shot his wife’s sister, his mother-in-law, and his wife while in a rage.
The accused fired two more shots before removing the magazine clip. He then laid his gun on the ground and waiting for the police to arrive. But he then decided to drive to pick up his daughter with his now-dead sister-in-law’s motorcycle. Police luckily stopped him before he could make it to his daughter’s kindergarten and arrested him.
The 41-year-old man said he killed them over jealousy, he said he met his wife in Pattaya while both having their own children from past relationships. Earlier in May, he did a lot of heavy drinking and ended up beating his wife to the point where she moved to Nakhon Phanom. He later put his daughter in a school near her home so the daughter could see his wife…… or more likely, so he could spy on her.
The day before the shooting, the gunman checked the mobile coordinates of his wife which he then tracked down. When he arrived at the coordinates, he saw his wife walking out of a hotel room in Khon Kaen with her ex-husband.
The gunman was furious but refrained from reacting at that moment. Even on the day of the shooting, it had seemed the two were getting along fine until the wife became angry again. His anger and jealousy he kept inside him caused him to eventually explode and go on a killing spree.
Later, the killer kept insisting that he still loved his wife but also asked police to punish him with no mercy, and no chance of bail. Maybe he was too much of a coward to face her family.
Yesterday (3 July 63) Mr. Noppadon, 42 years old, was arrested by the authorities after the shooting of Miss Jitra, Miss Sujitra and all 3 of them were mother and child.
