Bang Pa-in casino arrest 122 players and shut down illegal operation

Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya – The Department of Provincial Administration “Sri Ayothaya”, shuts down the Bang Pa-in casino, arresting 122 players with cash playing equipment in the amount of 939,070 baht.

1,200,000-1,300,000 baht on the evening of 29 July.

More than 60 officers raided an illegal casino at a  Sinthiwathani community in Sam Ruen Subdistrict after the Center for Damrongtham, Ministry of Interior Received a complaint that the large casino was open for both male and female gamblers. The caller was the husband of one of the many female gamblers who were present during the raid. The caller added that the gambling has broken their family after his wife became addicted and no longer paid attention to them. The family is now in debt after the wife has spent many hours at the illegal casino.

The caller also stated that the casino owner claimed to be free and clear to run his gambling operation without the fear of getting caught. Therefore the whistleblower requested that administrative staff to help investigate, arrest, and suppress the accused. The Department of Provincial Administration sent undercover officers inside the casino to conduct investigations.

According to the letter of complaint, the casino is located in Sinthiwathani Village, Sam Ruen Subdistrict, Bang Pa-In District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. Is a one-story building Looks like a solid, closed on all sides like a warehouse. Built on an area of ​​approximately 350 square meters, lots of cars and motorcycles are parked around the area and the entrance to the casino is an automatic sliding door with guards in front of the entrance to the casino 24hrs.

 

When undercover agents went inside, they found a wide hall with an Installed air conditioner which divided the gambling area.  There are 1 Hi-Lo betting, 3 Dragon Dragon gambling tables, 4 slot machine slots, and there was staff in the casino readily available to exchange chips instead of cash. There were food and beverage tables available in the casino as well with more than 100 players gambling every day.

After they investigated for a couple of days and collected enough evidence, they decided to go back the very next day and raid the casino, like usual, they found that gambling was still open and there were more than 100 players in the casino. Then agents gave the signal to block all entrances and exits on all sides so no players or staff could escape.

Inside the casino, there were 122 gamblers, 49 men and 73 women,  28 dealers. 94 of the players were Rojana Industrial Estate employees playing Hi-Lo, Tiger Dragon, and cash machine slots totaling 939,070 baht. 1,200,000-1,300,000 baht was confiscated and agents arrested both Mr. Piemsak Kittiwetvej and Mr. Ashwin Amprida who were in charge of operations of the casino.

After that, all of the gamblers and guilty staff were brought to Bang Pa-in Police Station to make arrest records.

The owners will be prosecuted for jointly smuggling, illegal gambling, and violating the requirements as Emergency Decree Government Administration in Emergency Situations. The arresting officers will coordinate the AMLO office to proceed with the extension of the money laundering law.
