The Thailand Muscle and Physique Championships opening day were held at the Royal Garden Plaza in Pattaya. The event was organized by the Bodybuilding and Fitness Association of Thailand in association with the Royal Garden Shopping Center, Mr. Rattanachai Sutthidechaanai, Vice President of Pattaya Business and Tourism Association (chairman of the competition).

Mr. Sukree Supawarakul, President of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Association of Thailand said that this is the first competition so far this year since March due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. Most competitors were understanding of the situation and training within their own homes. Thai bodybuilders And the national team athletes who compete were eager to get back to competing after countless hours of training. The competition also gave foreigners residing in Thailand an opportunity to compete as well.

The competitions were held under “New Norm” guidelines,  allowing athletes to wear surgical masks and keeping a 2-meter space between attendees. The referee had a partition and there is no audience, therefore seats were not provided for spectators to watch the competition. They even blocked the competition area although shoppers in the mall could see them competing from a distance.
