Storm Sinlaku pounds North, Northeast–VIDEO

Expat Ally Taylor shows the after-effects of storm Sinlaku that happened overnight throughout regions of Chiang Mai and Loei provinces as it moved into Northern Thailand, with heavy rain and flash-flood warnings still in effect until at least Tuesday. The Kuang River overflowed its banks and flooded the municipality in San Sai district of Chiang Mai overnight.

 

A homeowner was forced to carry his dog on his back when floods forced them to flee their home after heavy rain swamped homes in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand

Over 200 homes have been affected by the floods in Chiang Mai.

After 24 hours of torrential monsoon rain, arriving approximately 6 weeks later than usual, the Ping River is swollen and flushing out the algae & weeds from upstream. The next few days will be the gauge as to how the water is handled upstream and how it will impact downstream.
