Udon Thani Hospital covers all forms of preliminary diagnosis in conjunction with area clinics that may have specialized equipment that the hospital does not.  As a public hospital the level of care and wait times are far different than that of the private hospitals.  It’s not uncommon for a simple appointment to involve a long wait in a large queue, under cramped conditions.  It’s also very normal to experience a similar wait for the medications to be dispensed afterwards.

The upside is that the care at Udon Thani Hospital is very low cost similar to most socialized government medical programs.  In the case of Udon Thani Hospital, and within Thailand in general, a “Gold Card” is issued to citizens assuring them of costs as low as 30 Baht.  The facility has grown in recent years with new buildings and parking facilities added.
